Realism Literature
Realism Literature is a Nice Term for This Scared the Hell Out of Me
The human mind has a really interesting defense mechanism for dealing with shock going on around it. Instead of being overwhelmed, the brain literally slows time down. It goes into tunnel mode and focuses on just one thing. The person hears his own breath or her own heartbeat until the focus is complete and the task goal is reached, and then the person is whisked back into a loud cacophony of reality all around once more. Realism literature can’t replicate this sensation entirely, but it can bring the reader along enough to trigger the imagination and for a moment feel an inkling of the same adrenalin rush. Thought Torpedo novels are works of art towards that goal, to bring the reader to the moment of feeling the story instead of just comprehending the words. Take a try yourself and read some of the samples; our bet is that you’re going to get caught up pretty quick before you know it.
